Slava

On the Feast of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos, September 21/8, the Monastery celebrates its church Slava. Every year His Grace Bishop Longin, many clergymen from local Serbian parishes, and a number of visiting clergymen join His Grace in the liturgical celebration of this solemn Feast.

Monastery superior Abbes Makrina together with her sisters welcomes numerous guests from the neighboring parishes who come for the celebration of the Monastery church Slava.

Liturgy is served outside the Monastery church under the beautifully designed gazebo that was originally built for this purpose. Many faithful partake of Holy Communion during the Liturgy.

After Liturgy and cutting of the Slava bread, the faithful are invited to join the Bishop and all the clergymen in the festal banquet and delicious food prepared and served by the members of Circles of Serbian Sisters from neighboring Serbian parishes.

This special day is always filled with joy, happiness, and spiritual blessings.
