On the eve of April 6, 2019, with the blessing of His Grace Bishop Longin and an invitation from the Nativity of the Mother of God Monastery sisterhood, the 2019 Benefit Dinner for the Monastery took place at the Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral. All proceeds will benefit the reconstruction and maintenance projects at the Monastery.

Slava
On the Feast of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos, September 21/8, the Monastery celebrates its church Slava. Every year His Grace Bishop Longin, many clergymen from local Serbian parishes, and a number of visiting clergymen join His Grace in the liturgical celebration of this solemn Feast.
Djurdjevak Fest
In today’s society, we celebrate many different groups of people, events… but the family does not seem to be recognized as an important part of our lives that needs to be celebrated. In 2016, with Bishop Longin’s blessing, sisters’ approval, and Fr. Radovan Jakovljevic’s spiritual guidance the very first Djurdjevak Fest was organized to celebrate the importance of Orthodox families.
Family Camp
Orthodox families in today’s “modern” society face many challenges daily. What is the best way to raise children when Orthodox parents struggle with what to say, what to do, or what to teach their children. Orthodox families are judged and challenged by new social “norms.” For example, how should one approach Halloween or Harry Potter? Orthodox families obviously need guidance.

Children are our future. Nowadays, children watch a lot of TV, play screen games, and spend way too much time interacting with gadgets and computers instead of other children. It is really a rare sight to observe children playing outside in the neighborhood, talking to their peers, learning some crafty skills, or simply working on their practical skills.
