Gatherings at the monastery
A few times a year the quiet gives way: lambs on the spit, children in the pavilion, whole families on the grass. Everything here is open to anyone who wants to come.

Through the year
What happens, and roughly when

Early May
Đurđevak Fest
Begun in 2016 to celebrate the Orthodox family: lily of the valley, lamb on the spit, the kolo on the grass, and talks for parents on raising children today.

Several times a year
Girls Camp & Boys Camp
Two days at the monastery, Friday evening to Sunday evening. The girls sew, bake and play sport; the boys carve wooden crosses, learn basic electrics and church history.

Several times a year
Family Camp
Three days for parents and children together, with talks on raising a family in the Orthodox faith and the pressures families meet today.

21 September
Monastery Slava
The Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos. Bishop Longin serves with clergy from the local parishes and further afield; Liturgy at ten, then lunch on the grass for everyone who comes.

Spring and autumn
Helping Hands · Moba
Several times a year a large group of the faithful comes for a moba — a work day on the grounds. Bring gloves; lunch is under the trees.

Date to be announced
Benefit Dinner
An evening away from the monastery for the people who keep it standing. All proceeds go to the reconstruction and maintenance projects on the property.
Children's camps
A weekend at the monastery
Camps run several times a year rather than in one long summer season. The children sleep at the monastery, keep the daily services with the sisters, and spend the rest of the day working with their hands.
Ages and cost are confirmed for each camp before registration opens. Telephone (574) 654-7994 if you need to know before then.
